On A Quest For...A Fun Filled Week End in Central Arkansas With No Couch Potato Weather Looming Strong

Was reading the Weekend Ten in the Arkansas Democrat/Gazette this morning and Central Arkansans are in for some lively experiences this soon to be gorgeous weekend, no matter what their tastes may be.

How about the Professional Bull Riders Touring Pro Division on Saturday, 7:30pm at the Verizon Arena. Or, knocking around with tons of celebrities at the "Opening Act Celebration" of the highly anticipated opening of the Argenta Community Theater. And, don't forget about 3rd Friday Argenta Artwalk where you are able to experience fabulous local artwork on just about every corner of the booming downtown North Little Rock area! The fun trolleys won't be running on schedule because of all the goings on...so plan on walking and pay parking for all these great events. And , if you still have some life in you on Sunday, check out Soup Sunday at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock which is celebrating its 30th year of ladling up scrumptious soups and fundraising for the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families!

So, whatever is on your agenda for this wonderful weathered weekend...don't allow yourself to be bored or boring...interests are boring except to the people who have the same interests...hope you have somebody to share your special interests with! I know I do!

SB119 To Create the Commission On The Status of Women

If you are a woman living in the Natural State you would be most interested in the passage of  SB119 which will be on the Legislative agenda today at 10 o'clock am in Room 130 at the State Capitol in Little Rock. This bill's purpose is to
Create the Commission on the Status of Women to conduct ongoing studies of matters concerning women and to share these studies with other states that have created similar commission.
Come on down to the Capitol to see for yourself...and, thanks to all the women and men responsible for getting this hopefully soon to be passed bill on the agenda!

A Taste From The 50s

With all the record snow we have been having across the country and in my Southern state as well, I had this nostalgic desire for a taste from the 50s...Snow Ice Cream! I have all the ingredients, so check out just how easy it is to have a heaping bowl of delicious Snow Ice Cream in less that 2 minutes!

If I remember well, How To Make Snow Ice Cream
Go into the yard and find the cleanest pile of snow. Scoop up a big bunch in a small bowl...
Run inside like the little kid in you use to do with your freshly clean fallen scooped up snow and put it in a larger bowl and mix in about 1/2 cup of milk...I like evaporated milk that is 1/2 and 1/2 with water...
Now, add about 3 teaspoons (more or less) of sugar and stir...
Next add about a teaspoon or two of vanilla extract and/or any other flavor that suits your fancy...
Stir some more and presto...enjoy your super simple blast from the past Snow Ice Cream...
Go ahead...throw some sprinkles on it too!

The Ashley-Alexander House in Scott, Arkansas

Recently I had the privilege of attending Christmas Bridge Club with a terrific bunch of ladies from my church. Our gala event was held at one of Arkansas's rural historic highlights, the Ashley-Alexander House. This wonderful plantation is nestled in a lavish pecan grove just outside of Scott, Arkansas situated on five beautifully landscaped acres with ideal arrangements for both indoor and outdoor events. Owner Bitsy Davis was our gracious hostess as she gave us an educational tour, filled our glasses with sparkling mimosas, and served us a delightful lunch we are sure to remember for quite a while! For more information on planning your special event at the Ashley-Alexander House you may visit their website http://www.ashley-alexanderhouse.com or contact Bitsy Davis at (501)961-1426 or (501)231-6796. Check out the following photos for all the fun we had...I won the Deuce Prize!!!!
